Donít blame God.
James says let no man say he is tempted of God. So don't say it! God is not testing your faith. And it doesn't increase your faith either, for faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. Don't say, I wonder why it hasn't happened yet, either. That is a form of blaming God. If you blame God you are really resisting God. Realize that God doesn't like for us to say his word is not working. (1 Pet 5:6) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
(1 Pet 5:7) Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. You have to roll your care over to God, and keep it there, saying I don't have a care, I can't do anything about it I'm not God. I can't make God's word work only he can do that. If you take your care back you are saying you can do it better then God can. that's pride, and is not humbling yourself before God.. When you keep your care there (upon God) you are standing in faith. This is completely different from what we have been taught. People think that it is irresponsible not to worry and fret about a problem, but giving your cares to God is the most responsible thing you can do.
Then you must speak the word in the face of trouble. You would be a hypocrite if you say you believe the word of God and then speak things contrary to his word. The power comes when you speak it from your heart not just mimic a bunch of scriptures, You need to meditate on the word to get it into your heart. Say it until you are totally convinced that this word is for you. Not just knowing that it is suppose to be for you, thatís head knowledge.
Hab 3:17-19 gives you something to think about. (1 Pet 5:8) Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Thatís why you have to be on guard, because the enemy is trying to destroy you. (1 Pet 5:9) Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings (or resisting, there is suffering when the pressure comes) are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
What is faith again? Believing God's word over everything else, like circumstances. Patience must have her perfect work. Patience is the spiritual force that keeps you going through. You can't let up and you will come out of it, not maybe come out of it, you will come out of it. That you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. It is part of the power team, Faith and Patience. . If you side with God you can't help but win.
Now take you stand in God's glory and grace. God's glory is his splendor and power. (2 Cor 4:6) For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. Say I am a child of God and I expect to see the grace and glory of God upon me. Flood you mind with the word of his glory, building yourself up. Refuse to listen to anything else, if negative Christians come around to tell you how that's not going to work, tell them I don't want to hear it. (Eph 4:29) Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. If any man lacks wisdom let him ask. This is where the pressure comes from, not knowing what to do. If you haven't got any food in the house, that is not a crisis, if you can go out and buy dinner. The crisis comes when you donít have the money either. Now what? God gives wisdom to all. Without finding fault, even if you got yourself in the mess, God is not going to say you got yourself in, now get yourself out. No he won't. But you need to ask in faith, not wavering or wondering. Don't say why isn't God doing something. Or I prayed, it should be happening by now. This is what the devil wants you to say to get you against God. God is not the problem. Every good gift is from God read John 10:9-11 and settle it. Good things come from God. Bad things come from the devil. You need to know this so you can resist these things not from God.
When James says don't be a hearer of the word only it means you need to do these things in the word to overcome. Make up your mind God's word is finale authority; this is an act of your will. Your mind will want to go to the circumstances but pull it back and say no, no. Another thing I have heard when going through a test is that, I refuse to be defeated and I will not quit. This is an act of your will also, it takes a quality decision. That gets your will going with God.
Your soul is the gateway to your spirit, if you don't get it lined up properly then you can't pull the power in to the natural realm. You have to line up your mind, will and emotions with God. That's why you have to set your will, renew your mind and overcome your emotions. Find promises and say them, you can even take them to God and say I believe this word as though you appeared to me and said them, this is settled therefore, I will not doubt anymore. (Mat 13:15) For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.' He wants you to hear and understand his word so you can turn from you ways of doing things and he can make you whole.
Stop thinking that you know better then God. When your mind is going a million miles an hour, trying to figure out how to get out of this mess, forget it. You might be able to figure a small part of it out, but you will be getting back into pride again, thinking you can do it better then God. Is He your Lord or just your savior to get you to heaven? You have to do it His way. He had this all planed out way before you were born. He knew this situation was coming up before you did and He has a plan for it. So cool it. Sure you might have some inconvenience and maybe some embarrassment, but when you come out you will be far better off than if you did it yourself.
Bridle your tongue James is saying. if you are a believer and a doer of the word, in other words, doing all the right things, but don't control your tongue you will lose it all. It will wipe out everything you have done so far. Go to 3rd chapter of James. This is a picture he is trying to tell you, how can this insignificant thing make a difference, can this little thing really turn the whole circumstance around. He tells you how a little thing can turn those huge things around. You must only speak the word of God. You can't just think of good things to say there is no power in that. (James 1:21) Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness (being teachable) the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. The pressure will be on you to tell everyone you see, how bad it is, but don't do that or you will blow the whole thing. Donít get lazy, do what's right, because it's right and do it right. Also get rid of the fear. You are in satin's hands with fear. Just like God uses faith, satin uses fear. This is the process to go over and over, so you have it when you need it.
