Do we need to confess the word of God?
Let's look at what it means to confess.
There really is a two sub categories of confession. We will talk about one here. Saying certain scriptures everyday, so you can get them in your heart. Why? Cause this builds faith. Rom 10:10 says, if you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth you shall be saved. This word saved means all the good things that you want in your life. So that is how you get them, by building faith in your heart. Jesus called the Word of God a seed. You have to plant a seed in the ground, so it will grow. That ground is your heart or your spirit man.
God gave you a brand new heart when you received the new birth. He made that a perfect ground for you to sow into. So you need to plant the Word of God in your heart to build faith. How does faith come, (Rom 10:17) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. When you say it-you hear it. Do we need to do this daily? Well look at this (Mat 4:4) But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" This says if we eat food for our body we need to nourish our spirit man daily.
So this will build faith and get you ready for the other sub category, which is what we say during the day. Words we say during the day also must be considered. (Heb 3:1) Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,
Glory be to God we are partakers of the heavenly calling. Here it also says, we need to consider something. Must be a right thing or wrong thing. The word confession here also means to say something. So then Jesus is high priest over what we say. If Jesus is high priest of our confession or what we say, then we need to find out, what confessions to give him. There must be something about what we say that we have to consider. Right?
(Luke 6:45) "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
The evil man that it is talking about here, is the one that says the wrong thing. God calls anything that is contrary to what he said, evil. Not speaking faith or doubting God's word and so forth. If you are speaking unbelief, you are evil. You may have never heard this before, so it will sound strange, but that is what God calls evil. This will give you something to think about when you speak.
God's Word is God speaking to you. He tells us everything we need to know, so we can have a better live. It is important not to read words and put in definitions that the world uses. Nobody in the world, excuse the pun, can figure out what that scripture is saying or what good it is. It is saying what, ever you have in your heart, in abundance, that is what will come out of your mouth, under pressure.
Notice what is in your heart, he calls treasures. So you need to get the right stuff in your heart. Glory? and that what is in your heart will come out your mouth. Then at the end of the 11th chapter of Mark, Jesus said you can have what you say. Once you see that your words are powerful in making things change in your life, then you will understand how important confessions are. Start to work on your confessions today.
